YOUNG COMPANY

The GALWAD Young Company was formed of 12 people, aged 18 to 26, recruited through an accessible, open and informal process.

This collective of young voices from across Wales, convened in partnership with EYST, Citizens Cymru, Frân Wen and Disability Arts Cymru, helped to shape our project while receiving tailor-made support and training.

Through a series of residencies in locations across Wales, with guest speakers and facilitators, the Young Company explored the core themes and values of the project whilst considering how we instigate action and make change. The group was crucial in helping to influence and communicate GALWAD, working across live events, creative technology, film, digital media, community engagement and journalism. They plan to continue as a network and are looking for more opportunities to work together creatively.

"It’s hard to find the words but I feel so lucky to have been a part of this amazing and ambitious project, encompassing such important themes and messages. I am so grateful for all of the new skills, lessons and friendships that I’ll take away with me."
Buddug, GALWAD Young Company member
